The Frill-necked Monarch (Arses lorealis) of northern Cape York Peninsula has been split from the Frilled Monarch (Arses telescopthalmus) of the Torres Strait Islands and PNG by Schodde and Mason (1999). Birdlife International has not yet recognised this split.
