Features to look for in distinguishing Broad-billed Flycatchers from female Leaden Flycatchers include: broader bill, whiter eye-ring, especially the lower half, more graduated tail, and, in females and immatures, pale lores and more white in the tail feathers (from article by Graham Chapman, Wingspan Vol. 13 No. 2, June 2003)
